The “Add unsupported Z-devices” functionality allows a user to add a Z-Wave Binary switch device (on/off plug) to Viva that has not been tested or implemented. Once added, the device can be turned on or off from the Control tab, but no additional functions can be added to it.
Other types of devices, e.g. sensors, cannot be added in this manner, as faulty or incomplete sensor data could severely affect the performance of the system.
It is highly recommended that only expert users attempt this, as unforseen consequences may arise, and technical support will not be available for systems with these devices attached.
