Viva collects location data from your phone to enable the system to determine if you are home or away from the home. Viva stores this data as distance from your home instead of latitude and longtitude to protect the privacy of users.

Viva uses a mechanism that will send requests to the phone and to the users if location data is not sent regularly from the app.

  • Invisible requests are regularly sent to the phone during the first 12 hours of missing location data
  • If location data has still not been received, after a total of 36 hours an email is sent to the user to inform him that he should re-open the app and check the settings of the phone
  • If location data has still not been received after a total of 48 hours an email is sent to the admin user to inform them of the situation
  • If location data has still not been received, after a total of 72 hours an email is sent to all users to inform them of the situation
