The Viva app uses geopositioning to help the system automatically control home security, lights, and devices. The requires the app to perform some background activities that consume battery.
However, the app, and modern mobile operating system in general, are optimised to use as little battery power as possible when doing location activity, and the Viva app should have little effect on general battery consumption.
